Hotel Frate Sole

Rooms are very small. The bathrooms are cramped. There were several problems with things not working and the final and big problem was when it ran out of water when we were finishing up to check out. When I called their front desk, their response was they 'cannot do anything at the moment'. Disappointing stay though location wise it's not bad if you don't mind the other drawbacks.

Stayed for two nights as part of a group tour. A mixed experience. The location is excellent, a short walk to the Basilica and town. The hotel downstairs is fine, a small but welcoming reception and bar area, a spacious and airy breakfast/dining room. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms however are a different story. Ours, 203, had a very narrow window with external shutter creating a dark feel. The bed was large, effectively two singles together, and reasonably comfortable. It was quiet, despite being close to a road. There was very little storage, two drawers and a small wardrobe. Ok for our two nights. Rather dated overall. The bathroom was truly awful. Designed as a wet room with a grid in the centre, and a folding shower cubicle. Taking a shower ensured the whole floor was soaked so a visit to the loo became a paddle for several hours afterwards. This hotel was sufficient for our two nights but I wouldn’t return.
